News and developments on Freedom of Information in the UK. This blog is run by the Campaign for Freedom of Information. It was established in May 2003 by Steve Wood, who ran it until the end of February 2007 when he took up the post of Assistant Commissioner at the Information Commissioner's Office.
Interesting site, but the editor/owner of the site has not seen fit to publish an 'About us' page, and the link to 'Contact' does not work on my browser. On the other hand, the email link on the disclosure log page points to a person who appears to work for Northcliffe Electronic Publishing, related to the newspaper group. Regardless of whether the site is or is not officially sanctioned/paid for by Northcliffe, it is a bit off of the site owner not to be up front about this.

Further investigation reveals that the copy of the Act that the site makes available has been lifted straight from the Campaign for FOI's website, without making this clear (although, the downloaded files makes it perfectly obvious that it has been cut and pasted from the PDF version of the Act that the CFOI produced).
Apologies for double posting of earlier comment - browser timed out!

My apologies - I have corrected both of these things now by adding an 'about me' and crediting the cfoi for the copy of the Act. Keith
